A comprehensive report on field trials evaluating the effectiveness of FFC bio-fertilizers on crop health, growth, and productivity.

Labis Oil Palm Tree (Elaeis Guineensis) Trial

An updated trial between Canadian Morganics, FFC Biotech, and a control block in the Labis Oil Palm estate commenced with the initial inoculation on 19th September 2025.

Dr. Fung Fwei Chong’s Bio-fertilizers (FFC) are natural, eco-friendly substances that contain living microorganisms which help improve soil fertility and plant growth. The microbes in bio-fertilizers consist of bacteria, fungi, or algae that colonize the plant’s root zone and enhance plant yield and quality.

Objectives of the Study

To evaluate the impact of FFC bio-fertilizers on plant health

To compare Brix levels between treated and untreated plants

To assess crop quality and vitality after inoculation

To validate the effectiveness of microbial fertilizers

Methodology

The methodology involved two stages of inoculation, with the initial inoculation conducted on 19 September 2025 and the second inoculation on 17 October 2025. The first Brix test was carried out on 26 October 2025, nine days after inoculation, followed by the second Brix test on 9 November 2025, 23 days after inoculation. Leaf samples were collected from selected trees and analyzed using a digital Brix meter to measure sugar content and assess plant vitality.

First Brix Test (Oil Palm)

After a fortnight, I conducted a Brix test on the plots. I selected two leaves from each frond, which were subsequently pulverized into a homogeneous mass for the Brix analysis.

Result

Morganics Treated

FFC Inoculated Tree

FFC Biotech block recorded exceptional results from OP trees:

  1. F3/1 with 7 .2% and
  2. F3/2 with 9%

For the Morganics-selected palm trees:

  1. C3/1 exhibited a Brix reading of 3%, and
  2. C3/2 recorded a Brix value of 2.9% on the Nohawk Brix Digital meter.

F9/1 demonstrated a Brix measurement of 0.8% on the Brix meter.

Brix Test

The selected trees were inoculated on 17th October, 2025 and was Brix tested on 26th October, 2025 (9 days Later).

Today on 9th November, 2025 we did a 2nd Brix test which was 23 days after inoculation.

Rubber Tree

This treated Rubber tree (Hevea Brasiliensis) has a Brix result of 18.3% .The leaf sample was taken from the yellow marking.

This control rubber tree showed a result of 10.5%.

FFC treated specimens have higher Brix test results compared to control trees.
